That’s why we use layered microencapsulation: it protects probiotics and sensitive ingredients through the harsh conditions of the stomach so they reach the colon intact, where most of your microbiome resides and absorption occurs. Bioteem40 supports that ecosystem with diverse probiotic strains plus prebiotic fibre to nourish them, helping maintain a consistent, resilient gut environment that improves digestion and nutrient uptake. Dr. Kirumira
Forced to flee his home country of Uganda as a teenager during Idi Amin’s dictatorship, Dr. Kirumira’s early life was shaped by displacement, resilience, and a deep understanding of global inequity. Those experiences turned him into a true citizen of the world — one driven by purpose rather than borders. He ultimately chose Windsor, Nova Scotia, as the place to put down roots and build what he calls his biotech playground. From this unlikely setting, Dr. Kirumira has dedicated his life’s work to innovating affordable diagnostics and nutrition solutions designed to improve health and mortality outcomes in resource-limited regions around the world.

Glyn Davies
For the past eight years, Glyn has been Dr. K’s trusted partner, helping transform bold ideas into real-world solutions. As an expert formulation scientist and functional nutrition specialist, he bridges the gap between innovation and execution — turning complex concepts into scalable, market-ready products. Aligned with Dr. K’s vision to pioneer a new era of Holistic Natural Therapeutics through Medicinal Functional Foods, Glyn dedicated four years of research to bring Bioteem to life. With over a decade of hands-on experience spanning product development, formulation, scale-up manufacturing, and FDA and Health Canada compliance, he now serves as the principal architect behind Bioteem’s technology transfer, commercialization, and strategic product planning.
